Our revised ESG strategy, Journey with Purpose, outlines ambitious KPIs for our global operations until 2030. It’s about challenging ourselves to do better, to think beyond the ordinary, to inspire others, and holding ourselves accountable as a business.
The strategy is characterised by 4 pillars: People, Planet, Product and Passenger.
Our Journey with Purpose strategy is characterised by four pillars:
People
This pillar focuses on creating an inclusive culture that puts people at the heart of the business, both its teams and the community.
We will achieve this by investing in our people and through implementing training and development programmes for our employees under topics such as Equity, Diversity and Inclusion. We are also focusing heavily on creating social value to support our local communities and charity partners.
Planet
Under this pillar, we are focused on minimising the impact of our operations on the environment, protecting the planet for the generations to come and future-proofing our business.
We aim to significantly reduce carbon emissions and increase our energy efficiency. We believe that through waste minimisation and elimination of all unnecessary plastic we can contribute to circularity, and stay on track to halving our direct emissions by 2030.
Product
We are prioritising ethical and environmentally responsible sourcing, as well as the use of more sustainable materials, making it easier for passengers to make more conscious decisions while they shop.
We have taken steps towards sustainable sourcing of materials and traceability of the origins of our retail products. Our buyers are following a sustainability criteria which ensures that each product is sourced ethically.
Passenger
The passenger has always been at the heart of our ESG efforts and interwoven across all pillars of the strategy. More than ever, we are focused on empowering passengers to shop more responsibly, offering sustainable choices and building trust through transparency and communication.
Through our extensive customer research we will encourage passengers to shop more responsibly by showcasing and spotlighting sustainable products.
