ARI has officially unveiled Hot Shop at Larnaca International Airport, introducing a new beauty and lifestyle retail concept designed around newness, flexibility and passenger discovery within the airport environment.
Developed as a permanent concept within Cyprus Duty Free, Hot Shop is a dynamic retail platform showcasing emerging brands, niche fragrance and trend-led beauty. Serving as ARI’s “innovation lab”, it enables the testing of new brands, retail concepts and category trends within a live airport environment, helping the business respond faster to changing consumer interests, faster retail cycles and market opportunities.
The concept launches initially as a pilot in Cyprus, with future rollouts planned across additional ARI locations including Dublin and Montreal Airports.

Hot Shop reflects the pace at which the beauty category is evolving and the growing opportunity for travel retail to act as a launch platform for emerging and digitally native brands. What makes the concept particularly exciting for us is its flexibility. It allows us to test new ideas, respond more quickly to trends and create a more curated retail experience that evolves over time. In many ways, Hot Shop operates as a live retail laboratory, helping us better understand what resonates with today’s traveller while shaping how future concepts may develop across the ARI estate.

Deirdre Devaney

ARI Global Head of Beauty

As beauty retail continues to evolve towards more curated, experience-led environments, Hot Shop reflects growing demand for spaces that feel more immersive, contemporary and culturally connected. The concept is designed to offer passengers something new to discover throughout the year, while also providing brand partners with a more agile and flexible platform within travel retail.
This trend is particularly pronounced among Gen Z travellers, who have the highest impulse purchase rate of any generation. With 35% of purchases made spontaneously and a further 41% partially planned, airports have become powerful environments for discovery and influence. Digital and social channels now account for 56% of touchpoint engagement among Gen Z travellers who notice pre-store retail messaging, underscoring the need for trend-led, socially influenced and experience-driven retail concepts that convert inspiration into purchase.
Featured brands at launch include Sol de Janeiro, Summer Friday, Gosh, Erborian, CeraVe, BeautyPro, Mario Badescu, Real Techniques, Nudestix, Morphe, EYENLIP, Milkshake, Hello Sunday, Sabrina Carpenter, Rodial, Isle Of Paradise, Lattafa… alongside a curated mix of contemporary beauty and fragrance labels reflecting the growing influence of niche perfumery, social-first beauty brands and accessible luxury.

The Hot Shop is category-led and allows brands the chance to express their identity. We control the pace, we view how successful brands are and we can change them in and out as trends change. We will learn lessons and put those into practice as we go, and these can also aid other stores in the ARI network. The travel retail business is always changing and this is how we can react to that rapid change in an agile way.

Designed as a platform for experimentation and continuous reinvention, Hot Shop also allows ARI to explore how emerging brands, new formats and evolving consumer behaviours perform within a live airport setting. The concept has been developed to operate with greater flexibility than traditional retail environments, enabling faster rotation, curated storytelling and more responsive brand activation.

We are particularly excited about the implementation of this concept, which clearly reflects the latest retail trends and aligns seamlessly with the profile and expectations of our passengers. The Hot Shop brings a fresh and contemporary approach to airport retail, targeting a new and younger age group while creating a vibrant buzz through exclusive products available on the island.

From an airport perspective, the concept also reinforces Cyprus’ positioning as an innovative and forward-looking passenger environment, where retail continues to play an important role in enhancing the overall travel experience.

The Hot Shop concept officially launched at Larnaca International Airport during a ribbon-cutting event on May 19th 2026.
