Muscat Duty Free Unveils Impressive New Store at Muscat International Airport
Muscat Duty Free (MDF) successfully opened a world-class shopping complex at Muscat International Airport’s new terminal on 20 March. Passengers departing from Oman Airport can expect a premium shopping experience as Muscat Duty Free continues to offer the best in luxury brands including duty free favourites across liquor, fragrance, skincare & cosmetics, technology, confectionery and more. The new shopping facilities have increased in area by 300% to 6200 sqm. MDF now boasts a wonderful array of luxury brands including Jo Malone, Kiehls, Michael Kors, Hugo Boss, Tumi, and Porsche Design. MDF have added a Capi partnership electronics store and a sport offering that includes Timberland, North Face and Columbia. Additionally, the company has added a sunglasses concept, more fashion shops plus a dedicated gourmet store.
The shopping area is a spectacular upgrade from the existing shops, combining strong design features and new and exciting store concepts. The Muscat Market store features a unique palm tree ceiling design, taking inspiration from the Omani Landscape. In the heart of the new shopping area is an exciting and sensory experience where passengers will be able to peruse an impressive range of perfumes and cosmetics delivering a shopping experience that will indulge the senses, inspire the mind and ultimately make the customer feel special. The retailer has incorporated a dedicated boutique for Amouage, the fragrance house from Oman, plus many new perfume and cosmetic companies such MAC, Crème de le Mer, Benefit, Roja and La Prairie. Additionally, it has enhanced the shopping experience by including novel concepts from Johnnie Walker & Dewars, plus fun units from confectionary companies such as Nestle with their Kit Kat bus and selfie telephone booth. Interaction with the customers is a big part of the retail entertainment offered across the store with Lego producing a spectacular one-off life size Sinbad Lego figure that you can take a selfie with, and Chupa Chups created a Dhow that featured the Omani flag amongst many other innovative and interactive features for shoppers to discover.

MDF‘s opening promotion is another unique offer; the store is offering the chance to win a new freehold apartment in the Omani sea resort of Sifa. Every RO25 (USD65) spend at MDF will receive a free entry into the draw. The promotion will run for 4 months up to the end of July and is in conjunction with BMW who have also provided a stunning i8 car as the raffle prize. MDF launched its new logo earlier in the week and proud staff were wearing their new staff uniform reflecting the new image and makeover for MDF.
