CTC-ARI Woos Passengers With Week-Long Valentine’s Promotion
Love was in the air all last week at Cyprus Airports Duty Free in Larnaca, where passengers were treated to three great Valentine’s traditions flowers, champagne and chocolates.
Female passengers were presented with single roses, which helped to gently “encourage” many of their male companions to purchase them gifts in the duty free shops.
There was also a week-long tasting of Tattinger Rose and Brut as well as Bava Malvasia sparkling Rose, known as the “sexiest wine in the world”
To the delight of passengers of all nationalities, local musicians performed English and Greek love songs which contributed to a wonderful atmosphere in the departures area
The live music was complemented by strongly themed displays and mood lighting to create a very relaxed and romantic atmosphere around the central display and promotional bar area. This had the desired effect of enticing passengers to spend more time browsing in the cross category valentine promotion area, resulting in multiple impulse purchases on Confectionery, wines & champagnes and of course the obligatory Valentines cards and stationery.
CTC-ARI General Manager Garrett Coogan was understandably pleased with the reaction of customers to their Valentine’s activity. “Overall the sales results were strong with Confectionery sales +8% and sales of Bava Malvasia increase by 200% v same period last year. But apart from the commercial results we took great satisfaction in providing passengers with a unique and enjoyable retail experience which hopefully gave them another lasting memory of their stay in Cyprus and of course our Duty Free. I’d like to thank our Airport partners Hermes for their support in facilitating the various events, which were also really enjoyed by airport staff as well as passengers.”
