CEO Jack MacGowan Interview with The Moodie Report
Extending the Irish footprint
In late August Jack MacGowan took on the role of CEO at Aer Rianta International (ARI), one of the world’s top ten travel retailers, at a fascinating and challenging time for the group. ARI has experienced a turbulent past few years in Russia, a market it once pioneered, and earlier in 2011 it sold several of its major travel retail interests there. But in the past 12 months it has also gained significant footholds in India, through its Delhi T3 joint venture deal, and more recently in China, with a concession at the new Kunming Airport.
In this candid and far-reaching interview – his first with the travel retail media – MacGowan outlines his early priorities in the role, he assesses the opportunities for ARI (now a combined retail organisation with Dublin Airport Authority’s Irish airport operations) and he gives his views on Trinity partnerships within the industry.
