ARI wins Best Marketing Campaign by a Retailer at the 2013 Frontier Awards
Best Marketing Campaign of the Year by a Retailer was captured by ARI’s The Loop at Dublin and Cork Airports for “The Joy of Giving” campaign
Andrew Batchelor, ARI Global Buying and Strategy Director accepted the 2013 Frontier Award at the glittering awards ceremony in Cannes on Wednesday night.
In winning the gong, ARI beat off competition from the likes of World Duty Free Group, Dubai Duty Free, Duty Free Philippines, Delhi Duty Free Services in a very keenly contested category.
Commenting on the win, Head of Global Customer Strategy, Nicola Wells said. I’d like to congratulate the entire retail & marketing team, for planning and executing such a great campaign, which crucially delivered great results. At 5.6%, Q4 growth 2012 in The Loop was considerably ahead of the retail market in Ireland and Europe, which saw just 0.21% and 0.6% growth respectively vs. Q4 2011.
The strategy behind “The Joy of Giving” was rooted in a key customer insight “The Irish love to give.”
This in turn became the premise for the entire campaign, to promote The Loop as the destination for Christmas gift shopping in Ireland, by emphasizing two key messages “Value” and “Ease of shopping.”
The campaign has proved so successful that it will once again form the centrepiece of all our marketing activity in the run up to Christmas. The Joy of Giving is a sentiment that not only resonates with customers but also really encapsulates the Christmas shopping experience at our stores in Dublin and Cork airports.”
