ARI Scoops Four Prizes At Prestigious Awards in Cannes
Aer Rianta International (ARI) had a successful week in Cannes, being honoured with four awards. ARI and Diageo were awarded on the double, for Partnership Initiative of the Year, at the prestigious Frontier Awards and Drinks International Travel Retail Awards 2017. While Muscat Duty Free in partnership with Oman Air won Inflight Retailer of the Year at the Frontier Awards and Delhi Duty Free won Marketing Concept of the Year for the Whisky Luxe Festival.
ARI and Diageo
Earlier this year Diageo and Aer Rianta International (ARI) launched a new and exciting partnership with the world’s first GUINNESS EXPORT HOUSE at The Loop, Terminal 2, Dublin Airport. Custom designed from conception to completion by Diageo and ARI, the GUINNESS EXPORT HOUSE offers the globally mobile consumer a unique opportunity to experience the world of GUINNESS.
Commenting on ARI’s wins Nicola Wells, Global Marketing and Strategy Director said ‘We are thrilled with the awards. It highlights and strengthens our ongoing commitment to working with suppliers to create innovation that enhances and engages the customer experience’.
Dayalan Nayager, Managing Director of Diageo Global Travel said ‘Diageo is honoured to receive this award with our partner ARI. Consumers are increasingly looking for something special – unique experiences that allow them to better engage with our brands. Partnerships are a key way to create real stand-out brand experiences and we are thrilled that our colleagues on the GUINNESS Global and Brand Licensing team brought this exciting concept to life. Together with ARI we’re delighted with the strong results this initiative has achieved.’
Muscat Duty Free and Oman Air
The Oman Air Inflight operation is an award winning concession contract operated by Muscat Duty Free (MDF) in partnership with Oman Air. In 2016, with declining passenger spends across all duty free revenue streams, MDF and Oman Air implemented a strong strategic vision to give them a competitive edge ultimately leading to a better on board guest experience. They were hugely successful in exceeding their objectives driving improved spend per head, increasing sales and average transaction value through several initiatives.
Martin Mullen, General Manager in Muscat Duty Free acknowledged that ‘Oman Air and Muscat Duty Free work very closely to enhance the customer on board shopping experience and the success of the partnership has proved to be a commanding factor in the development of the inflight program.’
Delhi Duty Free
Delhi Duty Free (DDFS) won the award for Marketing Concept of The Year for their Whisky Luxe Festival at the International Drinks Awards. The campaign was created to highlight the wide range of Premium Whisky and Single Malts available at DDFS. An innovative retail experience was created for customers, with a premium bar experience highlighting the best 25 labels across the collection.
Luke Gorringe, CEO, Delhi Duty Free said “This award is a great testament to our continued dedication at Delhi Duty Free to drive the business forward. It highlights our commitment to innovation, leading by example and providing Indian travellers with a world class airport retailing experience in India. We are absolutely delighted with the award.”
