ARI Celebrates The Spirit of Gin Festival At The Loop, Dublin & Cork
Throughout August and September, ARI who operate the Loop at Dublin and Cork Airports launched a new campaign – The Spirit of Gin Festival. This festival was an opportunity to celebrate The Loop’s success with gin and to educate customers on the extensive gin offering.
Throughout 2016 and 2017, The Loop has invested heavily in its gin offering, which currently stocks over 50 gin products. It is now the fastest growing category across Dublin and Cork. In 2016, sales of gin increased by a staggering 70%, with Irish produced gin growing by nearly 200%. To ensure The Loop remain at the forefront of this growing trend the range has expanded by 50% in the last year, providing carefully selected lines to continue offering customers new and exclusive products.
Paul Hunnisett, Global Head of Category at The Loop stated: “In 2017, we have continued to drive gin as a growth segment, in response to industry and consumer trends. The Spirit of Gin Festival was our latest initiative, which educated customers about our wide variety of gins on offer.”
He also added “Irish gin is a key focus for us at The Loop. We have worked closely with suppliers and partners to bring some exciting Irish gins to our customers, some of which are exclusive to The Loop. During the Gin Festival, Irish Gin experienced an increase of +240% with the entire Gin range growing +114%.’
The Loop are working closely with Irish Gin Distillers and supporting new and exclusive products. Shoppers can enjoy the thrill of picking a gin that cannot be found elsewhere, such as Listoke Barnstorm, a unique blend created and distilled in Drogheda, Co. Louth. Also exclusive to The Loop is a special edition Glendalough Summer Gin, which was foraged and distilled by The Loop staff.
The Loop has also developed a unique concept, the ‘Gin Ambassador Programme’ where a number of staff members have been selected to complete personalised training on brand distilling processes and gin recipes. The gin ambassadors are in-store to help educate customers and assist them in choosing the perfect gin.
