In June 2015 ARI opened its first ever duty free shops in Auckland.
Challenge
From award of concession we had 130 days to:
Hire and mobilise an entire new work force.
Negotiate deals and exclusives with suppliers and arrange deliveries.
Contend with an 11,000 mile distance and 12 hour time difference.
Rebrand stores to The Loop Duty Free.
Take over from incumbent in a 2 day window.
Achievements:
The project coordination was managed centrally and the ARI Way processes ensured a smooth delivery. Opened 2 days early, to start trading in time for the busy school holidays period. The impact of the Loop Duty Free brand was immediate, shifting the sales mix in ARI’s favour.
