ARI Middle East
Aer Rianta International Middle East (ARIME) is the biggest international duty free operator in the region with business interests in Bahrain, Qatar, Beirut, Muscat and Cyprus.
ARIME offers both airport retailing and airport operational management consultancy expertise to the airport industry across the Middle East.
Its business interests include shareholdings and retail management contracts, concessions, supply contracts and equity investments.
Bahrain Duty Free
Bahrain Duty Free opened its doors in Bahrain International Airport on October 29, 1991 and has been operating there ever since. 2001 saw the relocation and redevelopment of the entire duty free area to a more central location at the airport. The total area now measures 3,300 sq metres in total.
Bahrain Duty Free has won three Frontier Awards and has been runner-up on a number of occasions.
There are a total of 11 shops in the Departures duty free area, an Arrivals Duty Free Shop, a Duty Paid shop as well as three Seaports Duty Free (service cruise liners/navy) outlets.
Muscat Duty Free
Established in 2003, Muscat Duty Free (MDF) (a trade name of Oman Sales & Services LLC) is a 50/50 joint venture company between Oman Air and Aer Rianta International Middle East (ARIME).
The current business activities of the company include:
- Duty free shops and related activities within the departure and arrival areas at Muscat International Airport
- A duty free outlet and an Internet cafe at Port Sultan Qaboos
- Management and operation of Oman Air in-flight duty free.
MDF is primarily geared towards providing all travellers arriving and departing Oman with local and international products at competitive prices. Customer service is paramount along with maintaining a flavour of Oman while developing a travel retail facility capable of competing with the best in the region and one Oman can be proud of.
Beirut Duty Free - Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport
Beirut Duty Free has established a reputaiton as one of the region's finest duty free operations, delivering an exceptional travel retail experience through its core retail philosophyof focusing on customer service, quality of choice and price.
Beirut Duty Free is managed by Phoenicia- Aer Rianta Management Company (PAM), a joint venture between Aer Rianta International (Middle East) W.L.L and Phoenicia Trading – Afro Asia.
It operates on the basis of a 15-year concession granted by the Government of Lebanon to Phoenicia- Aer Rianta Company (PAC) which is a joint venture between Phoenicia Trading - Afro Asia, Aer Rianta International (Middle East) W.L.L and a number of local partners.
Aer Rianta International (Middle East) W.L.L was responsible for the design and construction of the acclaimed 4,500 sq metre retail development at the airport.
