Late Danny Galvin commemorated in Cork and Cyprus
31 May 2012
Friends and colleagues of the late ARI General Manager Danny Galvin gathered recently at two separate events in his adopted country Cyprus and his home of Cork to mark his memory.
A poignant tree planting ceremony took place in Cyprus, on 10 May, in Danny’s memory. The late CTC-ARI General Manager was killed in a road accident on 25 May 2011. The ceremony took place in Patticchio Theatre Park, in Larnaka.

Staff of CTC-ARI, Cyprus Airports Duty Free Shops, Larnaka and Pafos gathered together to remember their popular and deeply respected colleague
Richard Galvin, Danny’s brother, travelled to Cyprus for the ceremony. He thanked everyone for their help and support during the difficult months following Danny’s death.

Danny’s life was commemorated in a different, but no less appropriate way, at the Fota Golf Club in Cork where 35 colleagues and friends played in the inaugural Danny Galvin Golf Classic on May 26th. Keith Buckley from ARI won the keenly contested event with a commendable score of 37 points in glorious weather. Members of Danny’s family were also in attendance to lend their support to what proved to be a very enjoyable occasion.
